Review of The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee

Henry "Monty" Montague was born and bred to be a gentleman however he was never one to be tamed by the expectations of society. The finest boarding schools in England and the constant disapproval of his father haven't been able to curb any of his roguish passions. Couldn't curb his likes for gambling halls, late nights spent with a bottle of spirits, or waking up in the arms of women or men.

However as Monty embarks on his Grand Tour of Europe, his quest for a life filled with pleasure and vice is in danger of coming to an end. Not only does his father expect him to take over the family's estate when he returns, however Monty is also nursing an impossible crush on his best friend and travelling companion, Percy. It is not in Monty's nature to give up easily and even with his sister, Felicity, in tow he vows to make this yearlong escapade his best adventure ever and flirt with Percy from Paris to Rome. However when one of Monty's decisions turns their trip abroad into a harrowing manhunt which spans across Europe and it calls everything he knows into question including his relationship with the boy he adores.

This book made my heart swell to 3 times it normal size and i thought that i was going to die from laughing. This was one of the best books which i have read this year and it is one of those love stories which shows that love is not constricted by the boundaries of gender. The characters are very well rounded and develop through the author's descriptive way of telling the story. I love the way that she has discussed and tackles some of the issues which we are tackling in every day society, i have recommended this to some of my friends and family and they have all loved this as well.
