The Mortal war is over, and 16 year old Clary Fray is back home in the New York, and she is excited about all of the possibilities before her. She's training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace finally. And, most of importantly of all, she can finally call Jace her boyfriend.

But nothing comes without a price or a sacrifice.

Someone is murdering Shadowhunters, and this is provoking all of the tensions between the Downworlders and Shadowhunters which can lead to the second, bloody and dangerous war. Clary's best friend, Simon, can't help her, her mother just found out that he is a vampire and now he is also homeless after he has told her about being a Vampire. When Jace begins to pull away from her without explaining why, Clary is then forced to delve into the heart of the mystery whose solution which reveals her worst nightmatr. She is set on a path which leads to a terrible chain of events that could lead to her losing everything.

I am loving this series more and more and i am so excited to see what the next 2 books hold for all of the favourite characters. I loved the way that Clare developes the relationship between Jace and Clary - it is amazing to see no matter what the world throws at them they get stronger and stronger. I am so glad that Clare was able to continually build on this story and the twist and turns which happen in the book. Bring on City of Lost Souls.ll
